The short version

1. Who we are

Stitch Switch ("the app", "we") is made by Fatih Alkan, an independent developer. This policy explains what data the app handles, why, who receives it, how long it is kept and how you can delete it. If you have any question or request, email af.alkanfatih@gmail.com.

2. What the app handles and why

Garment photos you choose

You take a photo with the camera or pick one with the iPhone's photo picker. The app only receives the photo you pick and cannot see the rest of your library. It uses that photo to:

These three tasks are done by Google's Gemini API (see section 3). Before the first photo is sent, the app shows a screen that names Google and asks for your permission. If you tap "Not now", nothing is sent. You can withdraw this at any time in Settings → Photos and AI by turning off Send photos to Google's Gemini API. After that nothing is sent, and the app asks again before any later photo.

Along with the photo, the app sends only short written instructions about the garment and the chosen idea. It never sends your name, email, location, contacts, device identifiers or measurements.

Measurements and projects

The tape measurement you enter, the pattern pieces, the PDF pattern, your step progress and your saved flips are all worked out and stored on your iPhone. We run no servers of our own, and none of this reaches us.

Subscriptions

Stitch Switch Pro is an auto-renewing subscription bought through Apple. Apple handles the payment, and we never see your card or Apple ID details. To know whether you have Pro, the app uses RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives a random app user ID (not linked to your name or email), the purchase and subscription records Apple provides, and basic technical data that comes with any network request: device model, iOS and app version, store country and IP address.

3. Who receives data

Google LLC: Gemini API The garment photo you chose, the preview image (for step pictures), and short text instructions To read the garment and create the preview and step pictures you asked for The app uses Google's paid Gemini API and sends its image requests with storage turned off. Under Google's terms, paid-tier data is not used to improve Google's products. Google logs requests for a limited period only to detect abuse and misuse. Gemini API terms · Google Privacy Policy

We only work with providers that are bound to protect your data at least as well as this policy describes, and only for the purposes listed above. We do not sell your data, share it for advertising, or combine it with data from other companies. The app does not use Apple's advertising identifier and does not track you across other apps or websites.

4. What stays on your iPhone

Your photos, previews, step pictures, projects, measurements and settings are stored in the app's private storage on your device. They stay there until you delete them. Like other app data, they may be included in your iPhone backups (iCloud Backup or a computer backup), depending on your own backup settings.

5. Deleting your data and your choices

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, including the EU/EEA, the UK and California, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or move your personal data, to object to or limit its use, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to your data protection authority. Because we hold no account and no copy of your photos, most of your data is already under your control in the app. For anything else, email af.alkanfatih@gmail.com. We reply within 30 days. We do not sell or "share" personal information as defined by California law.

Legal bases (GDPR): your consent for sending photos to Google, which you can withdraw in Settings; performance of a contract for the subscription; our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure.

7. Children

Stitch Switch is a sewing and upcycling tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has used the AI features, email us and we will help remove any related data.

8. Security and international transfers

All data sent by the app travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Google, RevenueCat and Apple may process data in the United States and other countries, with the safeguards those companies provide, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If a change affects what is sent to third parties, the app will tell you before it applies.
